Ash Grove’s Webster accused of domestic assault, unlawful use of weapon in incident

Allegedly threatened to kill self, others following end of long-term relationship

An Ash Grove man was booked into the Greene County Jail on Tuesday, Feb. 11, after he allegedly threatened to kill himself and others. Jeremiah Scott Webster, 25, is facing charges of unlawful use of a weapon and fourth-degree domestic assault in relation to the incident.
According to the probable cause statement in the case, on Wednesday, Feb. 5, an Ash Grove police officer was called to Webster’s residence, where he reported finding Webster sitting in a chair with a “long gun” under his chin. Other officers were called to the scene, and Webster was taken into custody without incident; he was then taken to a hospital for a 96-hour evaluation.
The officer reported that the victim in the case told him later that Webster threatened to kill her and fired the gun, a .45 caliber Apache Arms Company firearm that resembled a Tommy Gun, in her direction. The next day, the officer followed up and found a .45 caliber shell case that matched the headstamp of the Apache firearm. The casing was found only a few feet away from where the victim said Webster was standing when he fired the gun.
The officer also further spoke with the victim and reported that she told him she and Webster had broken up after a four-year relationship and had an argument about him not being able to see her children anymore; she said the argument led to Webster finding out that she had begun a relationship with a married couple who lived nearby.
Webster, the officer reported, confronted both the victim and the couple, and upon learning of the intimate details of their relationship, threatened to kill them and himself. He also allegedly told the victim that he “hoped she had her affairs in order.” He then went home and came outside with the gun.
Another officer spoke with the female neighbor and the victim, who confirmed the information in the first officer’s report. The neighbor said she was afraid of Webster when he came over and was afraid for the victim’s life when he came outside with his gun.
The second officer spoke with a man identified as Webster’s and the victim’s roommate. The man told the officer that he didn’t see the incident until he looked outside and saw Webster holding the gun under his chin. He said he tried to convince Webster not to harm himself while waiting for help to arrive.
As of press time, Webster remained in custody at the Greene County Jail.
