Culver’s coming to Republic, Popeye’s about complete

Republic’s explosive growth continues to attract new businesses.
Culver’s, a national burger chain famous for its butter burgers, cheese curds and custard, is planning to open a location in the city. According to Republic’s Major Project Tracker, a grading permit has been granted to the restaurant chain. When it is completed, Republic’s new Culver’s will be located at 1481 U.S. Highway 60 in a building that will measure almost 1,290 square feet.
Allyssa Dudley, public information officer for Republic, said Culver’s will be a welcome addition to the city’s wide range of businesses.
“We’re excited to welcome Culver’s to Republic,” she said. “With every new business that comes into our city, we’re thankful for the trust put in our processes, and the additional opportunities for our community.”

Popeye’s nearing completion
Even as work is getting ready to begin on Culver’s, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen stands ready to open a 2,500-square-foot location near Andy’s Frozen Custard. The restaurant, which was still under review in May, is almost ready to open. Popeye’s is famous for its spicy fried chicken and Cajun-style foods.
At the time the restaurant was still under review, Jennifer Mayfield, then interim communication officer, said the chain would be welcome in Republic.
“Every new restaurant or business that decides to call Republic their home adds to the overall growth and attractiveness of the city of Republic,” she said. “In this instance, it will add yet another dining option for our community.”
An exact opening date for Popeye’s was not available as of press time, although the location seems to be receiving its final touches. Media inquiries sent to both chains were not immediately returned.
