James Darrel Cathey II

James Darrel Cathey II, born on Oct. 31, 1941in Springfield, passed away on Jan. 15, 2026. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 55 years, Chris Cathey; his sister Jeanne Fiore; son Darrel Cathey (Julie Cathey); and his two daughters, Nikki Crawford (Larry Crawford) and Michelle Maggard. His legacy will be carried on in his six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Darrel Cathey and Opal Cathey, his brother-in-law Jerry Fiore and his great-grandson Trey Crawford. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 8, at Walnut Grove First Baptist Church.
