James Earl Bruton Sr.

James Earl Bruton Sr., 87, of Republic passed away on June 9, 2026, in his home. He was born Nov. 4, 1938, to James C. and Clara (Peck) Bruton in Greene County.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Kay (Ratcliffe); sons Jim, Jr. (Angela) and Tim; several granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; brothers Dean (Marty) Bruton and Tom (Judy) Bruton; sisters-in-law Mary White and Barbara (Ron) Long and brother-in-law Eddie (Tink) Ratcliffe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Deloris Brigman and her husband Dallas; his grandson Kyle Bruton, and a brother of the heart Odell Peck; as well as his brothers-in-law Jim White and Mack Ratcliffe.
