Janis Crable

Janis Crable, 76, of Battlefield, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026.
She was born on Jan. 12, 1950, in Ozark. She devoted her life to her family, spending many years working alongside her beloved husband, Leonard, while also embracing the role of a devoted stay-at-home mother. Her greatest joy was caring for those she loved.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering strength, and deep faith in God. She was a wonderful cook who loved collecting recipes, tending her garden, browsing thrift stores for hidden treasures, and spoiling her two beloved cats. She had a special love for animals and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Above all, she was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Crable; son George Crable; and brothers Jim Wilson and Danny Wilson.
She is survived by daughters, Stephanie Crable, and Tillie Woods and her husband, Brian; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A memorial service and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 27 at Missouri Veteran's Cemetery.
