Joann Cox

Joann Cox, 84, of Nixa, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at Mercy Hospital. 

She was born on Feb. 6, 1942, in Union City to Ruth (Tuttle) and Everett Gold. She was a member of the Nixa Assembly of God and was baptized by Pastor Wilbur Blansit. She graduated from Hurley High School Class of 1960. She dedicated more than 20 years of service working for Smitty's, Albertsons, and Price Cutter in Nixa. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Everett Gold, and her brother-in-law, Jerry Arterberry. 

She is survived by her son, Shawn Cox and wife Melissa of Republic; her two grandsons; her sister, Doris Arterberry, 

Graveside service was held Thursday, July 30th, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Clever, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home in Republic.
