Multi-county pursuit ends in arrest near Republic

A Golden City man has been apprehended following a 40-mile pursuit on a motorcycle that ended near Republic.
According to a release from Dade County Sheriff Ryan Robinson, Cody G. Roller, 33, led law enforcement on a multi-county chase before dismounting his vehicle and fleeing on foot.
 
Roller already had a warrant out for his arrest for a failure to appear on second-degree burglary charges when he encountered law enforcement. According to the release, he was also a person of interest in multiple felony investigations spanning a wide swath of the area.
 
Roller allegedly committed numerous traffic violations, running a stop sign and crossing into oncoming traffic during the pursuit. It reportedly created a substantial risk to the public and responding law enforcement.
 
After the chase crossed into their jurisdiction, Greene County Sheriff’s deputies took the lead, reads the release. Roller reportedly dismounted his motorcycle and fled on foot into a wooded area. Authorities, utilizing a K-9, were able to locate the man after an “extensive search.” Charges brought against Roller suggest that he attacked the police animal.
 
Roller is currently being held at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on charges of resisting arrest/detention/stop by, fleeing, and creating a substantial risk of serious physical injury or death and assault on a law enforcement animal. The man is also on a hold for Dade County for his other active warrant. Investigations for Roller’s other potential felonies are currently active.
