Richard (Rick) Stephens

Richard (Rick) Stephens was born Sept. 25, 1952, in Springfield, to Earl and Olive Stephens. He was married to Debby Perry. Their union was blessed with one beloved daughter, Christa Stephens. Later he married Faith East, who remained by his side until his passing.

He attended Central High School and graduated in 1970. After graduation he joined the Navy and became a Navy Submariner for six years. After honorably completing his Naval Service, he began a twenty-five-year career with City Utilities of Springfield and attended SMS (MSU).

He attended Sac River Cowboy Church.  

He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Stephens, two sisters, Debra Stephens, and Patricia Shelton. While he was preceded in death by his brother and sisters, the most profound loss of his life was that of his precious daughter, Christa Stephens.

He leaves behind his wife, Faith; a sister Earlene McCullough, Waterloo, lowa; a brother Mike Stephens and his wife, Kathy, Springfield; son-in-law Case Howard, Republic; two bonus children, Tammy Hunter and husband, Mark, Walnut Grove; Jason East, Springfield. He had five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
