Robert ( Bob) George Teegardin

Robert ( Bob) George Teegardin, 87, of Clever,  passed away on March 27, 2026.

Bob was born to Helen and Ray on Sept. 8, 1938, in Eureka, Kan. in his parent’s home on their farm.  In 1953 The Teegardins sold the family farm, moved to Carthage,  to own and operate a Sinclair Gas Station there. With three young boys in tow they were put to work in the gas station. 

 He joined the United States Navy, serving from 1956 to 1959, patrolling the seas of Japan and Hong Kong. After being discharged with honors from the Navy, Bob returned to Carthage and it was there he reconnected with Carolyn, and they were married there on Feb 6, 1960. Shortly after the wedding, they moved to Springfield, where Bob became employed with Producer’s Creamery as a maintenance engineer in the early 1960’s. It was during this time he studied evenings and achieved four licenses for Pilot, Private, Instructor, and Commercial skill levels. He served as a flight instructor at the Springfield Municipal Airport in the late 1960’s. During this time, Bob again studied for certifications required for crop dusting, purchased a Piper Pawnee Crop Duster Airplane, and he and Carolyn launched Teegardin’s Aerial Spraying and Seeding, which they ran until he retired. 

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carolyn Sue (Lyons) Teegardin of the home; daughter Melody Teegardin of Willard,  Zach Nusse of Billings; Granddaughter Vivian Sarah Conway, her husband David Michael Conway, and a great-granddaughter Violet Ever Conway. Bob is also survived by his brother Jack Teegardin and his wife Linda of Leesburg, Florida; John Teegardin and his wife Linda of Carthage.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Helen (Haney) Teegardin and his daughter Kimberly Kay Teegardin, and brother-in-law Bill Prater. 

Family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 10-11 a.m. at Meadors Funeral Home (304 East Drive in Clever). Funeral services will follow at 11. He will be laid to rest in Park Cemetery in Carthage following the funeral services. Online condolences may be made at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com
