Shirley Lea Daniel

Shirley Lea Daniel, 91, of Ash Grove passed away, on Sunday, May 17, 2026. She was born on April 25, 1935, in Ash Grove, to Homer and Ruth (Wise) Fortner. 


She was a lifelong area resident and a faithful member of First Baptist Church. She shared her passion and talent of music with the church, playing the piano and organ for over 62 years. She also played for many quartets and other musicians around the area. 


She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Crawford and husband Arthur; three grandsons; step grandchildren, Jason Crawford and wife Michelle, Nikki Medley and husband Justin; nine great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Ruth Fortner, siblings, Jimmy Ted Fortner and Helen Grant.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Ash Grove First Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., at the church, with burial to follow at Ash Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer Association for research and may be left with the funeral home.
