ROAR expo set for Aug. 1 in Republic

The annual ROAR Expo hosted by the Republic Area Chamber of Commerce is set for Aug. 1. The event is hosted every year at the Republic Community Center.

This year’s iteration is completely free for the whole family, with admission to the Rush Aquatic Center also offered without charge.

A variety of businesses and organizations will set up stands in the community center and will help to offer free haircuts and free bike helmets, made possible by Sport Clips, All-Star Barber and Cox Health. School supplies will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Chamber Director Macy Mitchell said that this year, there will be no entry line. Other attractions for the free day include a petting zoo, a dunk tank, a selfie booth, live music and a DJ, food samples, and a kids area complete with bounce houses.

Local food trucks and other food vendors will also be available at the expo, which runs from 3-7 p.m.

In total, more than 100 businesses will be in attendance, providing food, shopping demonstrations and more.
