Mary Lou Baber

Mary Lou Baber, 92, of Springfield, passed away on July 18, 2026 at her home. She was born on Sept. 22, 1933 in Clever, to Willard and Alice (Ghan) Frazier. Mary Lou and Jerry Baber were married in December 1953, and had three sons; Greg, Mark and Jeff. She worked as a medical secretary for 25 years and retired early due to health issues.
Her passion was cooking and she especially enjoyed making desserts and candy. She was an avid reader and loved history and nature books, and mystery novels.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Alice Frazier; brothers Wayne and J.L. Frazier; sister Martha Frazier; husband Jerry Baber; and sons Greg and Mark.
She is survived by her son Jeff, of Springfield; sister-in-law Delores Abbott, of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Greenlawn South Funeral Home provided graveside services at Delaware Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 24.  There was no visitation service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
