Lottie “Geraldine” Trent

Lottie “Geraldine” Trent passed away on July 30, 2026, in Republic.
She was born on June 5, 1931, in Marmaros, to Walter Scott Rice and Eva Snowden Rice (Henson). She was one of seven children and had many fond memories of life with her parents and siblings on the farm near Aurora where she grew up.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Juanita Rice and Eva Snowden Rice (Henson); an infant brother David Scott Rice; siblings and their spouses Glenda “Ailene” & Wallace Biellier and George Farrell “Rusty” & Peggy Rice; a special cousin LouDean Evans; and her beloved son, Larry Trent.
She is survived by her siblings and their spouses Willa “Lue” & Gene Mitchell, Walter “Junior” & Sherry Rice, and Benjamin “Joe” & Helen Rice; her children and spouses Maurice “Chuck” & Susan Trent, Michael & Sharon Trent, Judy & John Olsen, and Jon & Sonya Trent; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
She worked devotedly for more than 30 years as a Nurse’s Aide at St John’s Hospital in the Pediatrics department.
The family will be holding a private celebration of Geraldine’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Missions ministry at Seminole Baptist Temple, where she was a member for more than 60 years.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Republic Nursing & Rehab and Preferred Hospice for the compassionate care and support shown to Geraldine in her final years and days.
Geraldine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her life was a beautiful example of compassion, strength, and perseverance, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those blessed to call her family and friend.
