Douglas Mark Owen

Douglas Mark Owen, born November 10, 1950, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 30, 2026. A lifelong resident of Battlefield, Missouri, Doug graduated from Republic High School in 1969 before earning his degree in Industrial Technology from Southwest Missouri State (SMS). Doug proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years. Throughout his professional life, he was a dedicated worker, spending time at Freeman’s Men’s Store on Parkcrest and Springfield Manufacturing before eventually retiring from the Paul Mueller Company.
Outside of work, Doug had a deep passion for gene- alogy, spending countless hours uncovering family history and connections. His commitment to his community was evident through his service on the Patterson Cemetery board and his many years as president of the Public Water Supply District #1 of Greene County. Above all else, Doug lived a principled life guided faithfully by the Ten Commandments. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Virginia Owen, and his parents-in-law, Jim and Adalee Toddhunter.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; one sister, two brothers, and one brother-in-law. He was exceptionally proud of his nieces and nephews-Monica Meador (Adam), Adam Owen (Kayla), Matt Owen (Margo), and Casey Owen (Stephanie)-as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews: Keeton-Jaymin Meador, Kanton, Blayne, Kopelyn, Maverick, and Walter Owen.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
