For just a second, it looked like Republic and Neosho would be going to overtime. Instead, Neosho quarterback Gage Kelley spun off a pile of defenders at the goal line and fell into the end zone, giving the Wildcats a 34-28 win.
It’s the first season for boys swimming at Republic, so there have naturally been a lot of firsts for the Tigers. But Bryce Martin’s accomplishment at the COC Cham- pionships in Webb City is one that will stick with him.

Miha Nambara continued her streak of medaling at every cross country meet this year, finishing fifth at the Central Ozark Conference championships in Nisa Tuesday. Nambara finished in 20:22.40.
Two of the Central Ozark Conference’s best offenses battled in Carthage Friday, and Carthage’s offense turned out to be a little bit better. In a game that showcased more than 900 yards of total offense, Carthage accounted for 560 of those yards in a 54-34 win.
