Ash Grove resident Jim “Mouth” Purol can't recall a time when he bit off more than he could chew. He holds more than 40 world records, some of which are recognized by Guinness World Records, a large portion of them for fitting an unusual amount of objects in his mouth.

An update was delivered on the construction of Republic School District’s indoor athletics facility at the board of education meeting on May 21, where Assistant Superintendent of Operations Jason Perkins presented photos of the soon-to-be complete complex.

The newly constructed Republic Library held its grand opening on Monday, June 1, officially opening up the library as well as its services to the public. The branch had previously held a soft opening in February but after finally completing all construction they held an opening ceremony.
Ash Grove High School student Ella Holmes will soon travel to Washington D.C. for the National FCCLA Convention. Holmes will show off a self-stitched and self-designed dress that won her second place honors at state.
