Ash Grove parades Christmas
Ash Grove Board of Education member Jeana Scroggins, with grandsons Ezra Houp, 5, shown, and Eli Houp, 8, ride in the Ash Grove Care to Learn entry, a sharp Chevrolet Corvette.
The Greene County Sheriff’s DARE car leads the Ash Grove Christmas parade east down Main Street, Saturday morning.
The Star Wars universe was even represented in this year’s parade, as Chewbacca, Princess Leah and Obi-wan Kenobi stroll past.
Thanks to scads of sunshine and holiday spirit, the cool nip in the air Saturday morning in Ash Grove was soundly quelled for the Ash Grove Christmas parade. This year’s event, hosted by Ash Grove Lodge #100, started and ended at Ash Grove High School and meandered through town, including downtown’s Main Street, where Mayor Les Gardner announced entries while they rolled by. As the parade also incorporated a toy drive, several participants stopped by the announcer’s booth to drop off toys for kids. As usual, Santa circled back to the drop off spot to visit with children.
