Driver again crashes into local biz, this time McDonald’s
A truck rammed through the front door of the McDonald’s in Willard on Tuesday, Oct. 6, leading to damage to the front of the building and injuries to some inside, according to Corporal Mark Cole of the Willard Police, the responding officer on the scene.
“The door was completely off its hinges, and there was glass everywhere,” said Cole.
According to Cole, at around noon an elderly man was pulling up to a parking spot in front of the restaurant when his foot slipped off the brake and onto the glass, propelling his newer model Ford Ranger into the entryway.
The driver sustained minor injuries along with two others inside, as reported by Cole, with one McDonald’s employee reporting lacerations and minor bleeding.
Second time by same elderly driver
This accident was perpetrated by the same man who crashed into the front of the Ash Grove MFA in early September. In situations like this, according to Cole, a driver condition report is completed by the department, which could lead to the revocation of one’s license. The Willard police intend to file this report, as such a matter is of concern to the safety of the public. With that being said, however, automotive mishaps are inevitable.
“Accidents do happen,” said Cole.
