DENIECE MYERS YENDES

Deniece Myers Yendes, 62, of Republic passed away on May 1, 2024, after a nearly nine year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Springfield on June 9, 1961, one of two children born to John and Lucille Myers.
She graduated from Webb City High School in 1979 and went on to earn her bachelor’s of education in English of secondary education from Missouri Southern State University.
After graduating, she married and together they had two sons. After separating from her husband, she returned to Missouri and pursued her passion for teaching. She taught high school English in Fair Play and eventually finished her career in the Republic School District after 25 total years of teaching. She also completed her master’s degree in education curriculum and instruction from William Woods University.
She is survived by her children, Matthew (Katie) Yendes and Zachary Yendes; four grandchildren; her brother, Doug (Carole) Myers; her dog Mojo; as well as several members of her extended family, friends, and students.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 10, at the Klingner-Cope Funeral Home at Rivermont in Springfield with burial after at the same location.
