Election time for Greene County

The following are profiles of candidates running for office in the Tuesday, April 5, election.

Ash Grove Mayor
Name: Lester Gardner
Age: 56
Occupation: Territory Manager
Why should someone vote for you?
I am asking people for their vote to allow me and the team to continue moving Ash Grove forward. We have accomplished several items dealing with infrastructure, police department growth, park beautification, Main Street growth, sidewalk replacement, street resurfacing and the launching of the new Community Garden.  This was all during Covid. I am excited to see what we can accomplish moving forward without having to deal with Covid. Thank you for your consideration to continue to be Mayor of our wonderful town Ash Grove.

Name: Caleb Smith
Age: 40
Occupation: Smith Fencing and Lawn Care
Why should someone vote for you?
I feel like a good representative for the community. My family was welcomed by the Ash Grove community with open arms when we moved here in 1996. I feel blessed to call Ash Grove "Home". It's a great community that looked over me as a student in the Ash Grove School District. I would like to continue to improve the great home town feel, and make Ash Grove a town the residents are proud of as I hope for growth of businesses and new housing! I feel that I have a great connection with members of the town through church, my childhood friendships and other activities in the school system. This community, I feel, will support me with their vote knowing I'm community minded and I want to see our town be successful in every aspect!
