Annual Got Mud? Run draws 1,000 to Brookline

The Republic Parks and Recreation Department held the 2022 Got Mud? Run at Brookline Park on Saturday, Aug. 27. An estimated 1,000 people, some of whom came from out of state, ran in the event, which had 25 obstacles, including the Mud Mountain, Shiver Me Timbers, a mud slide, mud pits and more. Jennafer Mayfield, interim public information officer, said that the main draw of the event is that it provided a different way to enjoy the outdoors.
"I think it's just the challenge and the ability to come out and do something unique and fun," she said.
