Iron Grain District build breaks ground
Local officials and members of the Republic Area Chamber of Commerce shovel dirt at the site of the Iron Grain District, symbolically breaking ground on the project.
Magers Management Company celebrated the beginnings of the Iron Grain District with a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 6, at the site of the future development. The $65 million, 30-acre project northeast of Amazon will be a combination of business and residential buildings and is expected to be completed around the summer of 2023. During the ceremony, a mural painted by local artist Susan Sommer, depicting a steam locomotive and girl riding a horse, symbolic of how horses and trains helped to build up America, was also unveiled. The mural, which Sommer painted on the side of a shipping container, will be on permanent display at the development.
