JAMES “JIM” LESTER RAMSEY

James “Jim” Lester Ramsey, 70, of Republic passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024. He was born on Aug. 7, 1953, in Springfield, one of four children born to James and Norma (Brumley) Ramsey.
He graduated in 1970 from Republic High School.
He married Cindy and together they had two children, Michelle and Marty and adopted a daughter, Maria. She preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 2009.
He worked for Central Soya Feed Mill which turned into Consolidated Nutrition for over 20 years. After leaving the feed mill, he worked at Republic’s bus barn, mostly as a mechanic for 22 years until his health began to decline.
He is survived by his daughter Michelle (Marty) Long; his son, Marty Ramsey; his adopted children, Maria Dabney and her daughter Emma Lee “Emi” Essary; four grandchildren, siblings, Pam (Rocky) Goheen and Neil and Doug Ramsey; as well as other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Cindy.
A visitation and funeral services were held on Thursday, May 23, at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic with burial at Clear Creek Cemetery.
