JANET WOLFE BURNS

Janet Wolfe Burns, 73, of Greenfield passed away July 24, 2024, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla. She was born in Greenfield on Jan. 12, 1951, to Don and Agnes Wolfe.
She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1969 and Springfield Beauty Academy.
On Jan.3, 1981, she married Lyle Burns.
She owned and operated her own beauty shop in Greenfield until retiring to care for her grandchildren. She worked at the Lutheran Day Care Center in Lockwood where she became known as “Granny Janny”.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle; son, Gregg (Kim) Burns of Arcola; daughter, Joy (Perry) Finley of Lockwood; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter on the way; her sisters, Anita Frieze of Joplin and LaDonna Wolfe of Springfield; brother, Robert (Colleen) Wolfe of Pittsburg, Kan.; and her nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Donald Lloyd; and her brother-in-law, Denny Frieze.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, Aug. 2, at Lockwood Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
