JERRY MAPLES

Jerry Maples, 85, of Clever passed away on Nov. 24, 2023, at his home. He was born on March 12, 1938, to Raymond and Bessie (Hood) Maples in Clever.
He was a longtime member of Union Ridge Baptist Church and served on the cemetery board. He served in the US Army and worked in the potato chip business for 33 years. He then drove a Clever school bus for 17 years.
He married Sharon (Ghan) on Aug. 17, 1963. This union was blessed with two children, Belinda and Scott.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon; a son, Scott (Leah) Maples; a daughter, Belinda (Joe) Coffer; four grandsons, four great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joretta Stevens; two brothers, Finis and Ervin Maples; and a grandson, Nick Maples.
A visitation is scheduled from 5–7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Meadors Funeral Home in Clever. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30 at Meadors Funeral Home in Clever with burial to follow at Union Ridge Cemetery.
