JULIE ANN (HOOPER) FORBIS

Julie Ann (Hooper) Forbis, 46, of Republic died at home of natural causes on Monday, May 8, 2023. Forbis was born in Fullerton, Calif. on July 24, 1976 to Lynne Marie Hooper. When she was six years old, the family moved from California to Springfield, eventually settling in Republic. Forbis graduated from Republic High School in 1994.
She was united in marriage to Barry Forbis on April 23, 2004 in a wedding in Hawaii. Julie and Barry had two children, Hunter and Shelby.
Her kindness and tenderness guided her career to her position as the Director’s Assistant at Carpenter’s Kids Preschool and Kindergarten.
Forbis was preceded in death by her mother, Lynne Marie Hooper. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Barry; and children, Hunter and Shelby; father Bob Gilpin; and brother, Michael Hooper and his wife, Alyssa and their three children: Ella, Andrew and William. In addition, she is survived by loving in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends.
A visitation was from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, May 15, at Meadors Funeral Home.
