LINDA KAY (WOOD) COLLINS

Linda Kay (Wood) Collins, 70, of Marionville passed away suddenly on July 24, 2024. She was born March 15, 1953, in Marionville; the daughter of Ralph Edward and Clara “Ethel” (Pendleton) Wood.
She graduated from Marionville High School in 1971, then began a career in the insurance industry after finishing business college.  She worked alongside her husband, Bob, stepson Warren, and other relatives in their family-owned agency Land O’ Lakes Insurors in Springfield.  Continuing her professional education, she became a Certified Insurance Service Representative and a Certified Insurance Counselor, specializing in commercial insurance.She was a member of Glendale Christian Church.
She married Robert (Bob) Lowell Collins in 1983, and they spent 30 years together before his passed away in 2013.  
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jane Elizabeth (Abbott) Collins; two grandsons; her sister-in-law, Marcia Wood; three nieces, several great and great-great-nieces and nephews; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; both parents; her brother, Ralph Edward (Eddie); and her step-son, Warren Robert Collins.  
A visitation was held at Greenlawn East funeral home on Tuesday, July 30. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, with burial to follow at Rivermonte Cemetery.
