LOIS “GRANNY” GOLD

Lois “Granny” Gold, 78, of Hurley passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, with her family by her side. She was born on March 30, 1945, in Hurly, to Earl and Pauline (Wilson) Mitchell and was the youngest of six children in the home.
She married Tommy Gold on June 23, 1961, they raised five children and they shared 39 years until his passing in 2001.
She is survived by her children, Sheila (Larry) Israel, Sharon Coones, Doug Gold, Stacy (Kenneth III) Whittington and Scott (Alice) Gold; sister, Ima Mae “Shotgun” Langley; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Gold is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy; siblings, Louise Wilson, Billy Mitchell, Inez Hoover and Donna Faye Mitchell; and her son-in-law Jim Coones.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, Aug. 19, at Wright Cemetery.
