MONTE DEAN MCCROSKEY

Monte Dean McCroskey made his appearance, on June 18, 2023, quite a bit earlier than scheduled, at just 23 weeks and 3 days. Mom and Dad Travus and Jennifer both say that his arrival made Father’s Day just that much more special this year. “Mighty Monte,” as he was lovingly referred to by his family and all the NICU staff at Cox was a feisty redhead, who lived up to his name. Monte was a fighter; he was born at just 1 pound and 1 ounce, he fought through several medical complications, but on July 30, 2023, his little body was tired, so he was placed in his parents’ arms where he peacefully passed away. Monte was six weeks old.
He is survived by his parents; Travus and Jennifer, older sisters, Harper Rae and Adley Mae, grandparents Johnny and Kathy Monger and Jerry and Kay McCroskey, uncles Jared (Andrea) Monger and Quincy (Heather) McCroskey, aunts Jaci (Quaid) Turner, Felicia (Gene) Conrad, and Claricia (Jimmy) Spears, cousins Jayden and Jett Monger, Tylan Turner, Larinda Conrad, Hanah Conrad, Aubrieana (Ryan) Teuscher, James and Carson Spears and Parri and Galvin McCroskey.
A visitation was Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic with a graveside service following at 11:30 in Brookline Cemetery.
