Nita Sue Cooper, 72, of Battlefield passed away on Jan. 12, 2024. She was born on May 11, 1951, to Frank and Dorothy (Huff) Dale, at Fort Bragg Army Base in North Carolina.
She graduated from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield and obtained her master’s degree at the University of Missouri in Columbia. During her career she worked for Solar Turbines, Kearney Mesa Federal Credit Union, and later, Jack Henry & Associates.
She is survived by her husband of over 51 years, Larry Robert Cooper; two daughters, Dr. Jennifer A. Cooper-Lewis and her husband, Nicholas, and Jessica R. Cooper; two grandchildren; her siblings; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, Jan. 19, at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield with Pastor Justin Nelson officiating.
Her care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory.
