RICHARD DENNIS “DENNY” DOBBS

Richard Dennis “Denny” Dobbs, Sr., 82, of Billings passed away on June 2, 2024. He was born Nov. 21, 1941, to Robert and Eleanor Dobbs in Hoboken, N.J.
In 1946, when he was five years old, his widowed mother along with his younger brother, Robin, relocated to Georgia and she married his late father’s brother, James Dobbs.  
He graduated from Forest Park High in Atlanta, Ga. where he excelled in baseball and football.
In 1959, he met his future wife, Marilyn, and they married in February of 1960.  They were married for 63 years and raised four children together.
He was baptized in 1963 and family faithfully attended church services at the Forest Park church of Christ in Forest Park, Ga. until 1988 when they relocated to McDonough, Ga. and attended church at the McDonough Church of Christ where he served as a deacon over building and grounds for several years.  In 2017, they moved to Billings to be closer to family and soon became members of Brookline Church of Christ in Brookline.
He is survived by his daughters, Denise (Thomas) Medforth and Sherri Santos; son Richard (Carrie) Dobbs, Jr.; seven granddaughters; one grandson; six great-grandsons; as well as extended family and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; daughter, Kandy Dobbs; his parents; and his brothers: Robin Dobbs, Jimmy Dobbs, Wayne Dobbs, and Buddy Allen.
Funeral service were held on Friday, June 7, at Brookline Church of Christ with burial after in the Patterson Cemetery.
