King Built Properties steps up to build, donate house for annual giveaway

Every year, St. Jude Children Research Hospital holds their Dream Home Giveaway, a fundraiser where people can purchase tickets for a chance to win a house in cities across the states. This year, one of the houses that will be part of the fundraiser is currently under construction by King Built Artisan Homes/King Built Properties at Valley Trails in Republic.
Brad King, owner of King Built Properties, said he decided to donate the house when St. Jude’s asked him for help.
“Right now is a difficult time in construction,” he said, “and so St. Jude reached out to me because they were having a difficult time (securing) a house that can be ready on time and in the quality and style that they wanted. And so, they reached out to us through referral, because we do have some projects underway that could possibly fit what they were looking for.”
King decided to challenge himself and his team to build the house.
“I felt like that, if anybody could pull it off, our team could do it, and we have the ability to be able to do it,” he said.
King Built Properties broke ground on the house on Monday, Nov. 15, and will complete its construction in May of 2022. When the house is finished, King said, it will measure 3,500 square feet in size and be worth $665,000.
Esther Munch, regional development director at St. Jude, said tickets for the Dream Home Giveaway will be available for purchase beginning in March of 2022. Tickets will be sold at $100 each, and a maximum of 10,000 tickets will be sold. The drawing will take place on Sunday, June 26, 2022.
