Whataburger hosts groundbreaking

Whataburger, in cooperation with the Republic Area Chamber of Commerce, held a groundbreaking at the site of their future location in Republic at 1371 US Highway 60. About 300 people attended the event. Regarding Whataburger's plans to open a location in Republic, Macy Mitchell, executive director of the Republic Chamber of Commerce, said "This is not just a restaurant but a destination, and with our location possibly becoming the first to be built in the area, it will attract visitors from all over who will be able to visit our great city and patronize our local businesses, as well. Whataburger is focused on partnering with the chamber and with the school system to be involved in local nonprofits, especially feeding our hungry youth. They’ve done an excellent job as we not only have a professional relationship but also personal friendships with their leadership team, after many meetings."
