PROPOSITION K.I.D.S. FAILS

Ash Grove School District’s highly discussed Proposition K.I.D.S. on the April 4, 2023 ballot has failed. Needing a 57.14 percent majority to win the measure, voters only supported the $9.4 million proposal with 56.79 percent. The final vote tally indicated five more ‘yes’ votes would’ve meant victory for proponents. Or, three votes to swing the other direction.
Proposition K.I.D.S. offered many new upgrades to the district, all benefitting Ash Grove Elementary. The project would’ve added 24,515 feet to the current elementary building, including a new gym, six new classrooms, new restrooms and outdoor learning areas.
