VIRGIE ELIZABETH ROBERTS

Virgie Elizabeth Roberts, 56, of Bolivar passed on Aug. 9, at her home. She was born Feb. 22, 1967, to Treva Mae (Kates) and Carl S. Roberts during a snowstorm in Chicago, Ill., her mom barely making it out of the cab and into the hospital before she delivered.
She graduated from Bolivar High School in 1985 and then went on to graduate from SMSU (now MSU) with a hospitality management degree.
She was saved, along with her sister, during a revival at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church when she was 16 years old.
Roberts is survived by three children: Doug Roberts and Corey Sarnstrom both of Bolivar, and Shelby Roberts of Republic; two grandchildren; fiancée John Dunn, of Bolivar; sister Carlean Ernster (Lewis) of Buffalo; brother Walter Orrell of Bolivar; uncle Danny Kates (Cherie) of Bolivar; her best friend Teresa Barry of Bolivar; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Pitts Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, in the funeral home followed by burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bolivar.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel in Bolivar.
