CAROL JOAN FLETCHER

Carol Joan Fletcher passed away on Octo.26, 2023, at her home in Springfield. She was born on Sept. 22, 1943, in Fredericktown to Herman and Beulah (Schneider)Polete.
She attended and graduated from Mansfield High School with the class of 1961.
She was united in marriage to Carl Norman Fletcher on Nov. 23, 1963.
She was employed at the Brown Shoe Factory and enjoyed volunteering with the Ash Grove Booster Club and Springfield Kiwanis Club for her children’s various sports’ teams. This led to many years of being a bus driver for the Willard, Bois D’Arc, and Ash Grove School Districts including the Vo-Tech bus. She could also be found working the concession stands for the Springfield Park Board with daughter, Carlene, for multiple years.
She is survived by her husband, Carl; children: Carl G. (Dee) Fletcher, Carla (Scott) Chaney, and Carlene (Eddie) Thompson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sisters: Jeanie (Carl) Jones and Janet Polete; sister-in-law, Maxine Polete; brother-in-law, Donald (Paulette) Fletcher; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Cecil and Frieda Fletcher; siblings, Jack Polete and Judy Fletcher; and one great-granddaughter.
Her family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, North.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, also at the funeral home with burial immediately following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
