Little Free Library cuts ribbon

Cassi Wilder cuts the ribbon last Saturday to ring in the opening of a Little Free Library location in Owen Park in Republic. The idea for the book box is credited to Wilder’s son Oliver and was made possible in part thanks to the Missouri University Extension program. In the future, Wilder hopes to hold events for children in Owen park such as book readings and arts and crafts.  “Not everyone has access to books or local libraries and many children go to bed without a bedtime story, I aim to change that, one Little Free Library at a time,” said Wilder. (Photo by Ethan Gray)
