ROBERT WHITTEMIRE

Robert Whittemire, 92, of Monett passed away on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at Aurora Nursing Center in Aurora. He was born on March 10, 1931, son of Williard and Elizabeth (Cober) Whittemire in Mansfield, Ohio.
He married Janice Calhoun  on Nov. 28, 1953 in Liberty, Ind.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict; he received an honorable discharge in October of 1952. He subsequently attended and graduated from the Baptist Bible College in Springfield and was called to pastor at the Baptist Church in Wentworth where he remained for more than 20 years. He also was a salesman at V.B. Hall in Monett for 30 years. He was currently a member of the New Site Baptist Church in Monett.
He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Janice; two sons, Robert David (Ramona) Whittemire of Republic and Mark (Chris) Whittemire of Cassville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.
There will be a private celebration of life in Mansfield, Ohio, at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville.
