DORIS J. (LAMMERS) HUNTSINGER

Doris Jean (Lammers) Huntsinger, 90, of Republic passed away on Oct. 31, 2024, in Kansas City. She was born in Port Townsend, Wash. on Dec. 26, 1933; the fifth of nine children born to Fred and Florence Lammers.
She was a proud Navy veteran who served with honor and distinction. She joined the Navy in 1953 and after boot camp she was stationed in Seattle, Wash. where she met and married a Army Sargent, James (Jim) C. Huntsinger. They were married  on July 8, 1955, and shared almost 58 years together before he passed away on Feb. 27, 2013.
They retired and spent their final years in Republic.
She is survived by three sons: Gary (Joyce) Huntsinger of Overland Park, Kan., Mark (Vicki) Huntsinger of Aurora, Colo. and Richard (Kate) Huntsinger of Kapolei, Hawaii; one sister, Marie Anderson; one brother, Larry Lammers of Jefferson County, Wash.; along with numerous extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and six siblings, Herman, Helen, Clarence, Henry, Mildred and Lois.
