ANTHONY WILLIAM ELLIS

Anthony William Ellis, 29, passed away on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. He was born on April 10, 1995; the son of Dr. Scott and Colleen Elllis.
He played football from Mighty Mites age through high school and also excelled in hurdling while in track during middle school and high school. He enjoyed working with children for a summer as a counselor with the Republic program and was also was a lifeguard at Twin Oaks Country club for a few summers.
He worked for UPS initially as a sorter and then progressed to a UPS driver and after UPS he worked for Kraft-Heinz in the manufacturing process.
He is survived by his mother, Colleen Ellis and stepfather, Raymond Smith; his father, Dr. Scott Ellis and stepmother, Kimberly Fulton-Ellis; his stepsisters, Kara Jakubczak-Chavez and Jordana Fulton; and his grandmothers, Carolyn Ellis and Joyce McKee; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Donald G. Ellis and Robert Lee McKee.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield.  Burial will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
