Mayor Franklin delivers decree honoring veterans for their dedication, service

Republic Mayor Eric Franklin stands holding a mayoral decree, surrounded by veterans at the Republic Senior Center on Nov. 11 during a ceremony honors all veterans. Also in attendance were representatives from the Republic Fire Department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. As part of the festivities, Franklin read a mayoral decree that honors the veterans of the city. He said that appreciating those who have served is the least we can do.
“[It’s important to] send that message to the community, and I’m a veteran myself, so just having a little bit of appreciation goes a long way,” said Franklin. “Keeping that appreciation going, keeping it on everyone’s mind—that’s why we’re here.
