Theresa Jeanne “Teri” Gray

Theresa Jeanne “Teri” Gray passed from this life Aug. 22, 2026. She was born Jan. 17, 1952, to Bob and Jodi (Lumley) Brickner, in Springfield.
She married the love of her life, Charles Thomas Gray, in January 1970. They had twin sons, Clint and Chad, the following year, and then a daughter, Jami in 1980. During her career, she worked as a laboratory technician at a local doctor’s office. The couple made their home in Springfield and then Battlefield until Charles’ passing in 2012. She then moved to Illinois to be closer to Jami until her health declined.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and baking, especially different candies at Christmas time. The red and yellow roses that she and Charles planted at their home brought her great joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Jodi Brickner; husband, Charles T. Gray; and son-in-law, Bobby Beard.
She is survived by her sons, Clint Gray (Susan), Chad Gray (Debbie); daughter, Jami Beard; two grandchildren; siblings, Bobby Brickner (Diana), and Debbie Davis (Reggie).
A family directed celebration of life will be held on Sept. 19, 2026, from 2-5 p.m., at Battlefield United Methodist Church, 5475 Daniel St., in Battlefield.
